Parent Engagement in Wellbeing - Celebration Day for Girls
What do all mothers want for their daughters as they approach puberty and the threshold of womanhood?
• that they know that what is happening is normal
• that they are educated and informed well
• that they are supported and affirmed by all around them
• that they are given varied opportunities to ask questions and explore how they feel about their changing bodies.
We want our girls to cherish their bodies, feel positive about who they are and build resilience for the many challenges they will face as they grow to young adulthood.
The Celebration Day For Girls Workshop is a unique and special Mother-Daughter day. Girls can also attend with a female carer or relative. The workshops normally run on a Sunday with a 2 hour mothers’ meeting one evening in the week leading up to the shared day.
With fun activities, lively discussion, and the sharing of stories and ritual, this is a significant and memorable workshop for both mothers and daughters.
These workshops can be run through a school group, church or community group or simply through the coming together of like-minded Mums keen to create this experience for their daughters.
